Churchville Fire Explorer Post 422
The Churchville FIre Explorer Post 422 was formed in 1986.  The post is a branch of the Boy Scouts Of American and
is composed of young adults 14-18 years of age.  The Explorers train on Wednesday nights and occasionally with
the FIre Department on Monday nights.  The Explorers respond to all structure fires and assist the firefighters with
air bottle changes for air packs, lights, and overhaul.  Many members of the Explorer Post have gone on to become
members of the Fire Department some examples of
Fire Line Officers that were Explorers are:  Chief Tom Hetherington
Deputy Chief Scott Flagler, Deputy Chief Jim Kurycki (Barnard fire explorer), Captain Andy Hahn, 1st Lieutenant Andy
Vargo and 2nd Lieutenant Jim Fodge Jr.

"Forrestville" is the name of the drill these explores conducted with past chief Forrest Skelton.  Forrest taught the Explorer's
the importance of the Incident Command System and how the fire department utilizes this system on a daily basis.
